Professional air duct cleaning can remove debris and dust from your ventilation system for a better overall air quality. During your duct cleaning, our team will also make sure to change out
your air filters so that you can continue to enjoy cleaner air every time you turn on your cooling system.
Exactly how often you should clean your air ducts depends on a variety of factors, such as whether your home is located next to a park or open field, any recent renovation projects, and other considerations. Take a look at our article on Air Duct Cleaning to learn more about the techniques and cost of this air purifying process.
Keep pollen outside
Every time you leave your home, you’ll bring pollen back on your clothes, shoes, hair and skin.
From there, it can remain on pillows, couches, and towels, giving you no reprieve from allergy season! Cut down on the amount of pollen in your home by leaving outer layers and shoes in the mudroom or garage. Other linens in your home, such as bed sheets and bath towels, should be washed once a week.
Brush pets regularly and always outside
If you’re already sensitive to airborne allergens like pollen, pet dander can worsen your symptoms.
But, that doesn’t mean you can’t live comfortably with a furry friend during allergy season! As long as you can stay on top of regular grooming (and brush them outside), your air filters will last longer and be more effective in filtering out pollen.
Have your home inspected for mold
Something we hear periodically from clients is that they’ve been dealing with allergy symptoms for months. This could actually be a sign that there’s a different type of airborne allergen in your home or office, such as a hidden mold colony.
If you are experiencing allergies outside of the
months when pollen is in the air, it’s a good idea to schedule a professional mold assessment.
Check the daily pollen levels
Once you’ve undergone a duct cleaning in your home or office, your indoor space will serve as a welcome break from the pollen levels outside. Most weather tracking apps and websites can give you a specific daily forecast of ragweed pollen, tree pollen, and grass pollen.
When the risk for allergies is considered high, it’s a good day to stay inside and enjoy your clean ventilation system.
Tidy up during afternoons and evenings
Pollen levels tend to be highest in the early mornings and midday. So, if you plan on dusting, sweeping and vacuuming, it’s a good idea to wait until the afternoon or evening. That way, you can clean with the windows open during the time of day that pollen is less likely to drift in.
