Remove clutter around vents

Our technicians will move from room to room servicing all of your vents, individually.

We appreciate when our clients are able to move away furniture and other items that might be blocking the vents or blocking the path for our equipment to reach them.

Remember that your home may have air vents on the ceiling, so make sure to clear away clutter underneath these registers, as well.

In a commercial setting, make sure all employees know to clear away clutter underneath registers that may be mounted on the ceiling.

Clear a path to the HVAC system

Your HVAC system may be located in your garage or basement.

And, we’ll need plenty of space around this machinery to attach our equipment and inspect the unit.

Consider what to do with children, elderly family members and pets

Air duct cleaning generally lasts a few hours, and it tends to be a noisy job! If you have family members in the house with sensitive hearing or who may be bothered by having technicians coming in and out of rooms, it’s a good idea to have a plan ahead of time.

We do need to have one adult on site in case we need to ask any questions about your home. If, on the other hand, you’ve scheduled an air duct cleaning for your office, consider how our work may interrupt your normal operations.

We’ll work with you to schedule cleanings when your employees or customers are not present.

Remove or cover electrical cords

Because we’ll be moving from room to room with bulky machinery and vacuums, it’s common for us to trip over or get our equipment caught on electrical cords.

If possible, remove these obstacles or cover them with a rug or duct tape to make our job easier and safer.

Schedule laundry to be done before the team arrives

Cleaning out your dryer vent is an important way to reduce your risk of a house fire.

If dryer vent cleaning is part of your air duct cleaning service, make sure that your dryer is empty and clear so that we can work with the vent behind it.

Do a last minute quick clean

We try our best to localize our work to the air ducts themselves.

But the use of high powered vacuums and fans sometimes kicks up dust that is already present in your living areas.

Giving your home a quick cleaning session, including vacuuming, sweeping, or dusting, can cut down on dustiness in the work area.
